The Edutus College (old of CMBS) was founded in 1992, has since become an influential member of the tertiary education of economics in Hungary. It was the first institution in higher education to openly venture focusing on enterprise management and commerce practices instead of theoretical economics and macro level issues.

 

The college itself is based in Tatabánya, a city which has completed a successful structural reform, replacing a once thriving coal-based industry with the cutting-edge outlets and workshops of the electronics and transportation

sectors of the 21^st century. The Edutus College has set an example by taking part in the city's transformation, training professionals for the "New Economy". Since the economics of the 21^st century are based on information technology, globalization and communication, all graduates of Edutus have a strong base of economic studies, are experienced in computer usage and business interactions, and are confident in foreign language communication, presentation and business negotiation. Maybe it is due to this fact that the graduates of the Edutus College have been able to find employment with the greatest of ease and with the most success among young professionals of economics.
