Intercultural Management and Negotiation Techniques
Course objective:
The course deals with various issues related to complexity of culture, cultural orientation of different organizations and individuals and the mapping of world cultures through the cultural dimensions of Hofstede and others.
The course will enable students to develop skills of communications, managing cultural differences in a multicultural environment, and the art of negotiation so that international businesses can be effectively managed and business failures related to cultural differences can be minimized. Finally, students through various contemporary studies will be able to understand the cultural dynamics that has been taking place globally.

Conditions for issuing the micro-certificate upon completion of the course:
• Prepare and submit individual good quality homework about the given ICM case study (Michelin in China) answering the questions following the text.
• Final written exam (100 points) – duration time: 120 minutes
Homework – it is the ex-ante condition to get the lecturer signature from the subject and allowing you to take the final written exam. Lack of the homework or missing the submission deadline will result automatically signature is denied record in the Neptun!
Final written exam test – exam questions related to the material including in the slides and discussing in the classroom lectures.
Types of questions: theoretical question, answer choice, concepts explanation, figure/table supplement; relation analysis.
Grading system
Students’ work will be graded according to the extent to which they have fulfilled the requirements
Getting your lecturer signature from this subject (based on your homework). Signature is denied record means, that you are not allowed to take the final written exam!
Grading rate (as your class mark) based on the final written exam:
0-49 points – Fail (F) – its HU equivalent is “elégtelen” /1/
50-69 points – Sufficient (Grade D on the international scale – its HU equivalent is “elégséges”/2/)
70-79 points – Average (Grade C on the international scale – its HU equivalent is “közepes” /3/
80-90 points – Good (Grade B on the international scale – its HU equivalent is “jó” /4/
91-100 points – Excellent (Grade A on the international scale its HU equivalent is “jeles” /5/
